Job Purpose

The Senior Data Engineer plays a critical role in development and optimization of data infrastructure & delivery of data requirements within the bank. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will develop reports, dashboards and data pipelines that will efficiently collect, process and store data from various source systems.

Job Responsibilities

1. Developing data marts, data warehouse and data pipelines that extract, process and load data from various systems. 

2. Converting high-level data requirements from cross functional teams into detailed functional and technical specification documents. 

3. Design and develop reports/analytical dashboards in Jasper Reports, Power BI and SSRS. 

4. Testing and validating data pipelines, reports, and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and reliability. 

5. Support the daily operational activities within the data services team. 

6. Monitor and optimize the performance of Data warehouse and ETL process. 

7. Support in updating metadata, data catalogs and inventories as required. 

8. Execute activities such as source system analysis, data modelling and data dictionary collection, data profiling and source to target mapping. 

9. Ensure adherence to bank’s policies and compliance with relevant data protection regulations. 

10. Develop and implement data quality rules and reports. 

11. To participate and review the necessary activities to support the business in Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) practices. 

12. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or any related IT fields. 

Professional / Technical Skills / Diplomas

• Programming Languages: Advanced SQL, Python 

• Reporting and visualization tools: SSRS(Advanced) , SAP BO, Power BI(Advanced) and Qlik 

• Data Integration tools such as SSIS, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory 

• Database technologies: MS SQL Server, AS400 , Oracle DB, Postgres , MongoDB,DB2 

• Certification in Business Intelligence or data engineer domain (eg:Azure data engineer) associate or Power BI Data Analyst Role)

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in management of data warehouse, report/dashboard development or similar function in banking domain. 

• Experienced in data migration and extraction of data from Core Banking System such as Finacle, Temenos or Flexcube. 

• Cloud Data Management Technologies. 

• Understanding of reporting and data requirements by UAE Regulators such as AECB & CBUAE.
